Roots Play Therapy
Fees and Payment

I operate a private-pay practice. This allows me to prioritize confidentiality and personalized treatment for your child and family. I accept payment at the time of the service and accept cash, check, credit card, and payments through HSA. I can also offer sliding scale and reduced fee options depending on financial need.
My rate is $160 per 50-60 minute session.

Benefits to Private Pay Practice
-
Greater Privacy - Enhanced privacy by avoiding a formal mental health diagnosis that is required by insurance companies for payment.
-
Freedom to Choose - You can choose any therapist, not just those in a specific insurance network, to find the best fit for your needs.
-
Personalized Treatment - Therapists can create more individualized treatment plans and dedicate more time to you, without being bound by insurance session limits.
-
More Comprehensive Care - You may have access to a wider range of innovative and holistic treatment approaches not typically covered by insurance.
-
Faster Access to Care - You can often start therapy much sooner without waiting for insurance approvals or referrals.

Out-of-Network Insurance
Many insurance plans that accept out-of-network providers will reimburse fully or partially for mental health services. I can provide you with an itemized superbill, including all necessary codes, so you can submit it to your insurance company for any out-of-network benefits. Please note that I will have to provide a mental health diagnosis to your insurance company for you to receive reimbursement. You can call your insurance provider beforehand to determine if they provide out-of-network benefits. You may want to ask:
-
What are my out-of-network benefits for a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist?
-
Do I need a pre-authorization from my physician?

Good Faith Estimate
The Federal No Surprise Act (HR 133, Title 45 Section 149.610), which became effective January 1, 2022, was created to protect patients from receiving unexpected "surprise" medical bills. Hourly fees for services are listed above and in the Consent for Treatment form you will sign at the time of intake. The frequency and length of treatment can vary based on your family's individual needs. It is within your rights to request an individualized Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of the expected costs of services recommended.
